Buy a metal casket
Even though most caskets still are made of wood, there are many people who have instead decided to buy a metal casket.
Even though metal caskets are not traditionally used as much as other kinds of caskets, there are many people who have elected to go with buying caskets that are made of metal. There are a few reasons why people might want to go ahead and elect to buy a metal casket instead of a wooden one.
Some of the reasons are:
• They last longer - Everyone knows that wood is biodegradable. Therefore, if you buy a casket that is made of wood, there is a significant chance that it will begin to decompose after a certain amount of time. When this happens, it is more likely that things could get into the casket that otherwise should not be there.
• They can be cheaper - One of the things that makes wooden caskets more expensive is the fact that there is a lot of carvings and wood etchings on it. This means that in addition to you paying for the casket and its materials, you are also paying a little bit extra for the casket maker to do the etchings and carvings. Basically this is kind of like paying for the labor to be done at a mechanic because you are paying a bit extra to make sure that the etchings are done.
On the other hand, if you would rather not have to pay for the extra etchings and carvings, the metal caskets can be a little bit cheaper. That is because these caskets are usually quite simple and there are not all different kinds of elaborate designs.
