Casket
Because
there is so much to do and things are so hectic when the time for a
funeral comes around, looking closely at casket prices may be one of
the last things that are on your mind. The fact of the matter is that
if you have a whole funeral to plan and prepare for it is quite possible
that you will go with just about any casket that the funeral home director
recommends to you.
Of course, the problem with this is the fact that although most funeral
home directors are sympathetic to what you are going through, the truth
is that they are still a business and they are still trying to make
money. What sometimes happens is that a funeral home director will show
you a casket for your loved one that may be quite expensive.
While you may want to go with this casket and use it, you may want
to consider using another casket. It is important that you know and
understand your rights. For example, just because a funeral home recommends
a certain kind of casket or if the home is limited in the number of
caskets it offers, that does not mean that you absolutely need to use
one of their caskets.
On the contrary, the Federal Trade Commission has passed a law that
requires that funeral homes accept a casket coming from an outside entity.
This means that if a funeral home does not have a casket you like or
if the home charges more than you want to pay, you can buy the casket
from a third party and the home is required by law to accept it.
The casket is one of the most important parts of the funeral service.
Do not feel like you are helpless when to comes to making the best choice
for your loved one.
