Casket handles
Casket
handles are one of the overlooked, but important items included on a
casket. But, just because they are sometimes slightly overlooked, this
does not mean that they are not noticed at all. As with just about everything
else at a funeral, the handles should be understated enough as to where
they do not detract from the service, but should be noticeable enough
to complement the rest of the casket.
The three criteria that these handles should be able to meet are:
• Look nice - This is an obvious criterium, but still very important.
When you buy a casket, you want for each part of it to be beautiful
in order to make sure that your loved one has a beautiful resting place.
While the design of the casket plays a big part in this, the design
of the handles on the casket really help to show the overall picture
of what the casket should look like.
• Strong - Because the main functional purpose of these handles
is to be able to be strong enough to allow the casket to be held up,
it is very important that the handles are strong enough. If you are
ordering a casket from a reputable maker then there is really very little
chance that you will get anything other than the most impeccable quality.
However, if you are making the casket yourself, there is a chance that
you may not fit a screw into the right place or forget to reinforce
the handle. It is very important that you follow the instructions to
exactness and then be able to make changes that must be made.
• Plentiful - Many people look at being a pall bearer as an honor.
Because you do not want to offend anyone by telling them that there
is not enough room for them to be a pall bearer, it might be a good
idea to make sure that there are several handles included on the casket.
If this is true, t will be much easier to allow more people to participate
as pall bearers.
If the casket handles are able to meet all three of these criteria,
it is likely you have some good handles you can use.
