Cheap caskets
Since the price of coffins can reach as high as a staggering $10,000, it’s good to have information on the wide variety of cheap caskets available. A lot of funeral homes may try to sell you an overpriced coffin, but you can buy one from anywhere and they are required by law to use it.
Cheap caskets are usually made out of wood. Walnut, mahogany and oak are very popular, but coffins made out of pine tend to be the cheapest. Funeral homes and retail shops sometimes don’t put pine coffins on display because of their low-price and you may need to specifically request to view them.
Many new, cheap caskets are made out of cardboard. Sound enough to hold a grown person–these alternative coffins can cost only a couple hundred dollars. Also, eco-friendly burials are becoming more popular and people tend to favor the cardboard coffins because of the lack of finish and other harmful chemicals that are found on most coffins.
